A Foresthill, Calif. man surrendered to authorities on three felony counts of insurance fraud after an investigation by the CDI Fraud Division. Arley John Ronsonet, 29, was booked into the Placer County Jail on June 27 and bail was set at $5,000. If convicted, he could face up to five years in prison and/or a maximum fine of $50,000. The Sacramento County District Attorney’s Office is prosecuting the case.
According to CDI Fraud investigators, Ronsonet reportedly told doctors, his employer, and an insurance company that he broke his left ankle while working.
The investigation reportedly revealed that Ronsonet was actually engaged in horseplay with a co-worker while at work when the injury occurred.
