BusinessFirst Insurance Company, a monoline workers’ compensation company, announced that it is now offering coverage to employers in Georgia.
The company is offering workers’ compensation coverage in Georgia for policies with effective dates of January 1, 2015, or later.
In addition to Georgia, BusinessFirst is available to employers in Florida, Kentucky, North Carolina, South Carolina and Tennessee.
BusinessFirst Insurance Company and affiliate RetailFirst Insurance Company comprise the RetailFirst Insurance Group. During 2013, the companies reported more than $108 million in combined direct written premium, and as of September 30, 2014, the group insures more than 14,000 businesses and had more than $307 million in total admitted assets and almost $149 million of policyholder surplus.
