Almost 60 people fell ill after a catered holiday party at an office building in Central Florida.
Fire rescue units from Orange County, Seminole County and Winter Park were called to the Maitland Colannades building Wednesday afternoon when dozens of people started feeling ill following the holiday luncheon.
Authorities say some 25 people were taken by ambulance to hospitals in Orange and Seminole counties. Others either didn’t require hospital treatment or went to doctor’s offices or hospitals on their own.
The event was catered at 12:30 p.m. Wednesday. About 700 people work in the building.
Health officials are investigating the apparent food poisoning incident.
Officials searched the building to make sure no one was too sick to alert authorities.
Everyone is expected to be OK.
