Police in the northern Alabama town of Arab are cracking down on drivers who ignore the stop signs on school buses.
Assistant Police Chief Shane Washburn tells WHNT-TV that drivers failing to stop for the signs has become an issue recently, especially on Main Street.
Washburn said the police department is increasing patrols in the city, and also working with school bus drivers to enforce the law. Washburn said the bus drivers can radio police when they witness a vehicle failing to stop for the vehicle’s stop signs.
