Lawsuits Allege Woman Trampled at Virginia’s Busch Gardens

Busch Gardens is being sued by a woman who says she was trampled during the amusement park’s annual Howl-O-Scream event.

Brittany Lipscomb says in two lawsuits that other patrons struck her from behind and knocked her down as they were being chased by costumed Busch Gardens employees carrying fake chain saw.

Lipscomb says she was pregnant when the incident occurred on Oct. 5, 2012.

A Busch Gardens spokesman tells The Virginian-Pilot that the company doesn’t comment on pending legal issues.

The lawsuits initially were filed in Henrico County. Both were moved to federal court in Richmond this week at Busch Garden’s request. Lipscomb’s attorney, Robert W. O’Neal, tells the newspaper that he’s trying to get the lawsuits moved back to state court.
