An Atlanta motorist says she feels lucky to be alive after a sledgehammer flew through her window on one of Georgia’s busiest freeways.
Satara Campbell says she was driving around 60 mph on the Downtown Connector in midtown Atlanta when a 2 1/2-pound sledgehammer crashed through her windshield.
Campbell tells WSB-TV that the hammer landed a few inches from her leg inside her Honda around 6:30 a.m. July 10.
Campbell said a dump truck had just passed her as they headed northbound on the Connector, which carries traffic from interstates 75 and 85 through the heart of Atlanta.
The only clue left behind: The hammer that ended up inside her vehicle has the name “Jeff H.” on it.
