Tennessee Resort Electrocution Lawsuit Settled

One of two lawsuits stemming from the electrocution deaths of two boys at a Tennessee resort has been settled.

The family of 10-year-old Noah Winstead reached an agreement with German Creek Resort LLC and its owner, James Figuerado of Fort Myers Beach, Fla. Winstead died July 4, 2012 while swimming near a boat dock at the resort in Granger County.

The Winstead family attorney, Braxton Terry, told the Morristown Citizen-Tribune that details of the settlement are confidential.

A suit brought by the family of 11-year-old Nate Lyman is pending.

The two boys were killed and eight others injured when an electrical current coursed through the water at the marina. An investigation found numerous electrical faults at the dock.
