Organizers of a Christian music concert in Shelby, N.C., earlier this month say they followed the safety rules in building a stage that collapsed during a storm.
The Charlotte Observer reported that Bobby McLamb says he’s confident that L&N Productions of Hickory did a good job of putting the stage together.
No one was hurt when the roof over the stage collapsed Aug. 10, hours before a planned concert at the Cleveland County fairgrounds.
McLamb is with Artists & Attractions of Raleigh and says he had never seen a roof collapse over a stage.
McLamb says he’s used L&N for more than 20 years and will continue to do so.
The event was part of the American Legion World Series concert series and featured the Christian rock band MercyMe.
