A group of Forsyth County, Ga., firefighters will be riding on bikes instead of fire trucks on certain days.
The eight firefighters are part of the new Forsyth County Fire Department Bicycle Response Unit.
The Times of Gainesville reports that the unit will work at large-scale events such as Cumming’s Fourth of July festivities and annual country fair.

Lt. Greg Chapman said riding bikes makes it much easier for firefighters to respond to emergencies and medical traumas during events where many people are gathered. He said it can be difficult to get a fire truck through a large crowd, and the bicycles will allow the firefighters to move through more quickly and have better access to emergency situations.
