West Virginia regulators are inspecting commercial vehicle brakes at interstate weight stations this week as part of an effort to raise driver awareness about safety.
The safety inspections by Public Service Commission enforcement officers will be conducted at weigh stations on southbound Interstate 64 in Winfield, southbound and northbound Interstate 77 in Mineral Wells and southbound and northbound Interstate 79 in Fairmont.
The PSC said Monday that the inspection blitz is part of Brake Safety Week, which began Sunday and runs through Saturday.
