A Lamar County, Miss., woman returning to her home recently found a sport utility vehicle parked at her house with an identification card on the front seat.
She took notes. And when a man exited the home and drove away in the SUV, she called deputies and gave them the information.
Further aiding the investigation: the suspect’s wallet was found in the home.
Sheriff Danny Rigel tells The Hattiesburg American, that Hattiesburg Police soon called to say they had detained a suspect at a traffic stop.
Authorities booked 26-year-old David Scott Rouse of Hattiesburg with two counts of residential burglary after it was determined that a second house near the one where the SUV was spotted had been burglarized. Rouse was being held at the Lamar County jail.
