South Florida fire officials are working to determine what caused a lawnmower to burst into flames, severely burning the commercial landscaper who was riding it.
Pembroke Pines Fire Rescue spokesman Tom Gallagher tells the Sun Sentinel that the lawnmower caught fire in the middle of a road Monday afternoon.
Gallagher says the 27-year-old landscaper suffered second-degree burns over 40 percent of his body. The landscaper was airlifted to a Miami hospital’s burn center.
