Fire officials in Lexington, Ky., say they believe an arsonist is setting blazes in a neighbor where nine fires have been reported since early December.
Crews were called out Saturday to the latest fire that started with a shed, but quickly spread to a nearby duplex and destroyed it.
Lexington Fire Maj. Mark Blakenship says told WKYT-TV that it is likely the work of one serial arsonist because the fires are progressing from small to big in a “narrow geographic area”.
Lexington Police and Firefighters plan to meet with residents in the area on Monday at the Preakness Apartments Clubhouse to discuss the fires and try to come up with leads for a suspect.
