A 21-year-old woman is being held at the Douglas County jail after being charged with trying to break into vehicles near the jail shortly after she’d bonded out on another charge.
Chief Deputy Stan Copeland with the Douglas County Sheriff’s Office says Gabrielle Begay had posted a $1,500 bond following her arrest on a charge of fighting and was freed from the jail.
The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports Copeland says the owner of a business across the street saw someone trying to break into his vehicle and went to the sheriff’s office.
Copeland says while the business owner was in the office, a woman reported seeing someone trying to break into her car in the jail’s parking lot.
Copeland says Begay is being held on $14,000 bond.
