Authorities say a school bus driver’s purse that slipped behind a brake pedal caused a wreck that injured the driver and several students.
Investigators told the Augusta Chronicle the driver was trapped and some students suffered minor injuries on Friday after the bus plowed into a tree in front of a suburban home.
The North Augusta Public Safety said in a statement that 64-year-old driver Vickie Adams was at fault. Police said she will be charged with driving too fast for conditions when she is released from the hospital.
