Playgrounds are being removed from all Beaufort County elementary schools. Children will be placed on foam matts for 1 hour of thoughtful meditation time per day.

It’s sad. This kind of suit is exactly the reason you really see schools with “no running” rules at recess. A kid breaking an arm on the playground is part of growing up.

Now, if a broken arm didn’t cost $41,000 in medical bills, then they probably wouldn’t need to hire an attorney and file suit.

But never forget that health care reform is SOCIALISM.

No, government take over of healtcare is socialism. There are reforms that could move the system back toward capitalism but that’s not likely in the next 2 years.

About the article … I wonder how many teachers would be enough. If there had been a dozen and the kid still got hurt, would the parents still file the suit? Probably.

    Youngin’–too funny.

They don’t even MAKE half the playground equipment I played on as a kid. Guess what? We survived. If we fell and got scraped up (or, worse case scenario, broke bones), we got yelled at by our parents and told to “Be more careful.”

You know, The Good Ol’ Days?

My people tell me that playing on a payground can be classified as “high risk behavior”. My guess is the kid was standing up on the slide or some other high risk behavior when he fell. I say the school district should sue the parents for raising a dumb kid.

The deadbeat parents obviously had no health insurance hence the need to puruse the school. Sliding boards aren’t inherently dangerous and the presence of more teachers doesn’t guarantee some kid won’t do something stupid and fall off. Whatever he did that caused the fall….I’ll bet he won’t do again.

If there had been adequate supervision, the child could have been saved from his own stupidity. Obviously a law suit is warranted. And the school’s getting off cheap at $41k. Imagine the emotional distress – he’ll be scarred for life.

Emotional distress..scarred for life…really? How can a kid truly have emotional distress from breaking his arm? A boy should be tougher than that. If he played rough enough to break his arm then he can suck it up enough to not be distressed over this. IT’S PART OF GROWING UP AND GETTING TOUGH.

    Don’t be a Nediot.

Additional supervision wouldn’t have prevented an accident unless he was hanging on the monkey bars for 20 minutes until his bones gave way.

GET A GRIP?! Excuse me. He didn’t break his arm – he broke both arms! Do you realize how far that will put him back in school? Imagine the humiliation of not being able to do anything for yourself! Getting dressed, wiping his …

And what’s this about a BOY should be tougher? What kind of sexist …

I got a grip. I was being sarcastic. LOL
