A wrongful death lawsuit in Louisville claims a now-defunct Kentucky youth group put three teenage brothers into a stolen car in which they died during a police chase.
The lawsuit was reported by WAVE-TV in Louisville and was filed by the family of brothers Marc, Demar and Jamar Claybrooks.
The teens and Aaron Shields were killed when the driver of the car fled from police and crashed into a tree in December 2008.
The lawsuit claims officials of Youth Alive had put the teens into the car after a youth event at the Presbyterian Community Center, although they had been driven to the event in one of the group’s vans.
Youth Alive ended its programs in June after it lost its insurance. The group faces two lawsuits filed by insurance companies.
