Officials at a Bolivar County school in Mississippi will have to repair the damage left by a deer who broke through a glass window and left one classroom in shambles.
West Bolivar Elementary principal Latonya Calhoun says the school’s janitor told her early Wednesday that someone had broken into the school. When Calhoun arrived, she said she heard a loud noise coming from a bathroom.
She saw a deer trying to get out of a window. Calhoun said she sent arriving students to the cafeteria while the deer left the bathroom and walked into a classroom where it knocked down books and desks before leaving.
The school is near the Great River Road State Park.
