A Gulf Shores police investigator says two men sought for questioning in an alleged insurance fraud scheme on the Alabama Gulf coast may have fled to Turkey.
Authorities want to question Benton Gray Harvey and Jonathan W. Adams about the alleged theft of $176,317 from Starfish Insurance Agency owner Pamela Wynona Schoen while both worked for the firm.
A police investigator says more victims could emerge and that losses from fake policies could reach $750,000. No one has been charged.
The International Mission Board of the Nashville, Tenn.-based Southern Baptist Convention won a judgment in Richmond, Va., in March 2005 against Harvey for $362,499. That case related to Harvey’s service overseas for the board as an accountant.
