West Virginia Receives $3.1 Million for Disaster Relief

West Virginia is getting $3.1 million in federal funds to support its long-term disaster recovery and critical infrastructure needs.

U.S. Housing and Urban Development Secretary Steve Preston announced the grants as part of $200 million for 15 states hit by natural disasters.

The money will help several counties in West Virginia that experienced severe storms, tornadoes, flooding, mudslides and landslides in June.

It can be spent restoring damaged housing, assisting struggling businesses or rebuilding infrastructure, among other things.
