Authorities in South Carolina said someone set two overnight fires that destroyed an Anderson apartment complex for senior citizens and left dozens homeless.
All of the residents escaped without serious injury.
The Greenville News reported Oct. 14 that Anderson Fire Chief Jack Abraham ruled the fires as arson.
Authorities say firefighters were first called to Heatherwood Apartments around 1:30 a.m. on Oct. 12 and quickly put out a stack of magazines on fire in the lobby. The second blaze several hours later destroyed most of the 45 units.
The Red Cross is helping the residents burned out of their homes find somewhere to stay.
