Fire destroyed a West Virginia food bank that serves all of Wyoming County.
Mullens, W.Va. Mayor Jon McKinney says preliminary reports indicate that the Oct. 5 fire at the Mullens Veterans Building was electrical in nature.
The damage was mainly confined to the basement, where the Itmann Food Bank was located.
McKinney says the second floor of the city-owned building, which is used as a community center, has some smoke damage.
It’s not clear how much food was destroyed in the fire but officials had been preparing for the upcoming holiday season.
