Florida Insurers Update Claims Numbers on Fay’s Heels

The Florida Office of Insurance Regulation reported the latest claims tallies as of today (Aug. 29) for five of the state’s highest volume insurers.

As of 9 a.m. EDT, state-backed Citizens Property Insurance Corp. reported a total of 3,118 homeowners’ claims.

State Farm reported 7,105 homeowners’ claims and 1,469 auto claims as of: 8:15 a.m. State Farm is also processing 593 National Flood Insurance Program claims.

Universal Property & Casualty says it received 1,512 homeowners’ claims as of 9:30 a.m.

USAA reports 2,114 homeowners’ claims and 237 auto claims as of 9 a.m. today. USAA’s auto number declined as the company had some losses withdrawn and identified losses not related to Tropical Storm Fay that had been previously reported as such, according to the OIR report. USAA is also processing 201 NFIP claims.

Allstate reports 1,443 homeowners’ claims and 701 auto claims as of 10 a.m. In addition, Allstate is processing 377 NFIP claims.
