What makes you say that the stories are inconsistent? Have read the complaint? Have you spoken with the victim? Fr. Chuck was aware that charges had been filed and even agreed to a plea agreement. He was taken “ill” the morning that he was to appear in court. How convenient.

He was pleading guilty before he was even charged? That’s a heck of a trick, even for a Priest.

The warrant was issued the day after he died. The legal system doesn’t give you the chance to “plead guilty” before that.

There is one plaintiff in this case, who keeps swearing others came before him. (Just look at the Kiwanis claim that is being made.)

But it is irrelevant. I see why this individual has decided to try the case in the court of public opinion, rather than criminal one… there are those too willing to believe the tales of a mentally disturbed young man. After all, if one Priest did it, they ALL did it, right?

Anyone who knew Fr. Chuck knows he’s definitely an innocent man and is the victim. His whole family is devastated. What a shame. Father Chuck had several medical problems including emphysema, where he could not breathe, times when he could hardly get through Mass, why would he waste the little energy he had on this boy-man. And come on this the 2000’s–the boy/man was no child.

I read the whole complaint filed and then the ammended complaint that was filed. The Clarksburg teen who we will call “M” accuses Father McCallister of being the receptive party at anal sex. This is odd to me? That would make M have to be proactive into the sex abuse. I may have questioned if this lawsuit was valid, if it was the other way around. I also believe that M went to a really competitive school, Notre Dame; his failing at Notre Dame could also be related to his mental health disease.

I wouldn’t consider a GPA over 3.0 to be failing.

I was deeply saddenly to hear of these allegations as well as the death of Father Chuck. Having been involved with the WV Key Clubs on a District level, I believe all that knew him know that these allegations are absolutely false. He was a very kind and gentle person who did nothing but tirelessly work to improve the lives of youth. And so, here’s the thanks he gets. Looks the work of some greedy people that are dragging the name of a wonderful man through the mud since he is no longer here to defend himself. It is sick to see what some will do for money. God bless Father chuck’s soul, and I believe that investigations will exonerate him and clear his name.

As a former Key Club District Officer under the Administration of Father Chuck, and as someone who spent thousands of hours with the man, I believe I have some unique insight into this matter. Without any firsthand knowledge of the plaintiff’s case, I can say that Father Chuck was, without question, the finest man I have ever known, save my own late stepfather. He was gentle, funny, kind, generous, loving, and deeply faithful to his Priestly vows. I would not be the man I am today without the care of this great man, and I am deeply saddened and disturbed to see his name dragged through the mud after his death. Again, if he is guilty of the charges, then the justice system will deal with that. As for his legacy, I can only pray that those whose lives he touched will come forward, as I am ready to do,and defend his character. I spent many days traveling around the nation with him for Kiwanis and Key Club events, and was a frequent guest at his home, and I can say he was never anything but a perfectly wonderful host. I will always love this man, and there are literally thousands out there who share my views. Also, I was very sad to see the WV Catholic Bishop did not have even the decency to attend this man’s funeral, after all Father Chuck did for the Diocese of West Virginia.

Right On, I am with you all the way, I was not as close to Fr. Chuck as you were, but all any one has to do was to know him for 5 minutes, he was the most wonderful, kindess person I have ever met.

The one thing that has bothered me is our diocese has refused to fight for him. I assure anyone if this case would go to trial it would be dropped immediately. Anyone who has ever delt with abused children knows the truth and could testify the allegations don’t make sense.
