Florida firefighters in Lake County are battling a blaze that has scorched over 1,000 acres of dry forests and marshlands.
Dozens of homes in the Deerhaven area north of Orlando were forced to evacuate. There are no injuries reported and no homes have been damaged.
The fire started May 21.
Meanwhile, other blazes continue to burn from Brevard County on the Atlantic coast south to Miami-Dade County.
In South Florida, residents will continue to breath and smell smoke from a fire in Everglades National Park that started several days ago. And a dense smoke advisory is in effect for the Lake Okeechobee area, where another fire is burning. The advisory means there will be lower visibility on the roads, presenting a minor hazard to drivers.
