A Kanawha County, W. Va., man, who was indicted on a felony count of submitting a fraudulent insurance claim to an insurance company pleaded guilty to a reduced charge of one misdemeanor count of insurance fraud, according to W. Va. Insurance Commissioner, Jane L. Cline.
Cline said Meddie R. Dunlap, 56, of Alum Creek, submitted an insurance claim to Erie Insurance Company for damages to a camper in September 2006 when those damages had previously been paid in June 2006 by another insurance carrier.
Dunlap pleaded guilty on Feb. 13 before The Honorable Jennifer Bailey Walker, Kanawha County Circuit Judge and is scheduled to be sentenced by Judge Walker on April 10, Cline added.
