I wish I had gone into politics out of college! Whether it is on the state or national level I am constantly amazed at the sweet perks legislators continue to create for themselves! How out of touch with reality are they? By virtue of their job they deserve health insurance subsidies? Bunk! I work hard too and no one is subsidizing my BCBS monthly costs! I am so glad that Mr. Main is publicizing this issue and the State Employees Insurance Board should heed his advice.
The rate for insurance quoted in the article is for family coverage. I can assure you that I am paying significantly more for family coverage with BCBS of Alabama. Their price is a great deal even if they have to pay for it.
