    Hi,
I received a telephone call today mentioning that i am selected for a government grant of $8000. He had the bank routing number and asked for my checking account number which i gave (like a stupid). They said that they require a processing fee of $249. Now i am contacting my bank to stop all transactions.

Last Friday, July 23, my son received a call from a female stating that he would be receiving a federal grant anywhere from $8,000 to $25,000. Sounds too good to be true? That’s because it isn’t! They didn’t mention anything to him about withdrawing a processing fee but they did ask for his account number in order to secure the soon to be deposited grant money. After doing so, my son was transferred to a male who he gave him the same toll free number 800-551-7099. After researching this further, we then called his bank to make them aware. His account is safe. My son will be closing his account and re-opening a new one TODAY!!! Lesson learned.

I just got that call yesterday and gave the info but I will be calling the bank today and stopping all transactions. I was interested in getting grants and a grant book is much less. I should’ve known better.

I went through this too, and had to close my checking account. I tried to contact the police, but they had no interest in the matter, and told me to file a complaint with the Better Business Bureau. PLEASE, if you want to see this stopped, FILE A COMPLAINT!
