West Virginia’s Workers’ Compensation Commission recently filed injunctions against eight state employers whose accounts with the Commission are reportedly in default.
Injunctions were filed in Kanawha County Circuit Court against the following:
* CBS Inc., a Kanawha County carpet sales and shipping company, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $12,375.41;
* Tony Pacifico Stone Quarry Inc., a Kanawha County stone quarrying business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $22,864.19;
* City of Piedmont, a Mineral County municipality, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $18,759.73;
* Backwoods Logging Inc., a Wyoming County logging business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $64,412.19;
* Darlene Cogar dba Ann’s Trucking, a Webster County log hauling business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $34,279.96;
* U.S. Tours Inc., a Wood County travel agency, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $16,697.39;
* Angela Renae Caskey dba Mustard’s Deli, a Wood County restaurant, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $12,435.84; and
* Robert Dale Brady dba Brady Masonry, a Webster County masonry business, owes back premiums, interest and penalties totaling $76,602.46.
Workers’ Compensation Commission Executive Director Gregory Burton said the Commission will continue initiating litigation involving delinquent businesses throughout the state to help assure everyone pays their fair share.
The injunctions call for the firms to cease business.
