Louisiana’s Department of Environmental Quality is distributing a hurricane guide to the state’s 64 parishes, providing information about available environmental cleanup resources if a storm hits.
This is DEQ’s third year to send out the manual. It contains details about pre-approved debris sites, sample emergency declarations, permit examples, a list of wastewater treatment facilities, DEQ contact information and other information.
The department says the manual is designed to help parish emergency response officials follow environmental regulations during an emergency and speed the recovery process.
