Two people remain hospitalized nearly two weeks after a suspected drunken driver veered into a South By Southwest festival crowd in a wreck blamed for three deaths.
A spokesman for University Medical Center Brackenridge in Austin, Texas, said Tuesday that one man remains in critical condition. Steve Taylor says two other patients treated since the March 13 accident have been discharged.
Officials with St. David’s Medical Center say a woman remains in good condition in the hospital’s inpatient rehab facility.
Austin police say the suspect, Rashad Owens of Killeen, was intoxicated and fleeing when he drove into the crowd. Two people died in the initial accident that left more than 20 others hurt. A third victim died March 17.
Owens remains jailed on capital murder and aggravated motor vehicle assault charges.
