Louisiana Parish DA to File Charges Against Cleanup Contractor

November 27, 2013

The Livingston Parish district attorney says he will file charges against a former parish contractor after a grand jury fell one vote short of indicting him on allegations he falsified billing invoices for work related to Hurricane Gustav cleanup.

District Attorney Scott Perrilloux tells The Advocate he will file a bill of information against Corey Delahoussaye on “multiple counts of theft and numerous counts of filing false public records.”

Livingston Parish hired Delahoussaye and his firm, C-Del Inc., to help resolve wetlands permit and mitigation issues lingering from the parish’s efforts to dispose of debris from Hurricane Gustav in 2008.

Delahoussaye has said his work included monitoring the work of three firms hired to perform cleanup and monitoring services after the storm.
