The Monroe, La., city council has extended its contract with Traveler’s Insurance for coverage of the Monroe Transit System.
The News-Star reports the contract is for one year.
Monroe Mayor Jamie Mayo said the previous contract expired Tuesday, but with council approval coverage did not lapse.
Since 1906, Monroe Transit has been continuously owned and operated by the city of Monroe.
Monroe Transit offers 14 fixed routes and paratransit services to the community.
