Assistant Fire Chief Scott Wolverton says the wreck happened Friday night, resulting in a total of 12 injuries.
A 13-year-old pulled out in front of the bus, KSLA-TV reports.
Wolverton says the youth was critically injured. The bus driver and a passenger near the front of the bus suffered serious head injuries and were also hospitalized. Nine others were transported to hospitals with less severe injuries.
Police say the driver of the Dodge pickup ran a stop sign and the bus driver wasn’t able to avoid a collision.
The bus had 24 passengers.
