The Oklahoma Highway Patrol reports the number of traffic fatalities increased in September over September 2011 – but the number for the year is lower than last year.
Capt. Chris West said Monday that there were 69 fatalities in September – an increase of 11 over the 58 reported in September last year.
The OHP says the total number of people killed in accidents on the state’s roads in 2012 is 553. That’s down by 41 from the 594 traffic fatalities through the end of September last year.
