Investigators say country singer Tracy Byrd and his wife have been slightly hurt in a two-vehicle wreck in Southeast Texas.
The Department of Public Safety says the accident happened Tuesday afternoon on U.S. 69 near Lumberton, about 85 miles northeast of Houston.
DPS says a car turned in front of an SUV driven by Byrd, who’s from the area, and the vehicles collided. DPS says the other driver, Jolliette Capo of Silsbee, was ticketed for failure to yield.
Byrd, his wife Michelle and Capo were taken to a hospital with injuries not believed to be life-threatening. An official at Christus St. Elizabeth Hospital in Beaumont said Wednesday that the Byrds and Capo were not listed as patients.
Byrd’s hits include “The Keeper of the Stars,” “Holdin’ Heaven” and “Watermelon Crawl.”
