An Oak Grove, La., teenager has been arrested on suspicion of setting a fire that burned nearly 600 acres of land in West Carroll Parish.
Louisiana Agriculture and Forestry Commissioner Mike Strain’s office says 19-year-old Stacy James George was booked into the parish jail on one count of simple arson following his arrest last Friday. His bond was set at $10,000.
George faces a maximum sentence of 10 years in prison if he’s convicted of the charge.
Strain’s office says the July 13 fire near the community of Kilbourne didn’t result in any injuries.
