Authorities have identified the construction worker who died while working on a new residence hall at the University of Oklahoma.
Authorities say 24-year-old Colby Shaw had worked for Universal Roofing & Sheet Metal since 2006. Shaw fell four stories while working on the new dormitory, Headington Hall.
The state medical examiner’s office says Shaw’s cause of death report is pending.
Shaw fell from the building shortly after 8 a.m. Monday. He was pronounced dead at OU Medical Center at 9:15 a.m.
Universal Roofing president Jimmy Guthrie tells the Norman Transcript that it appears Shaw did not properly secure his harness. The Occupational Safety and Health Administration is investigating the death.
