A Eunice, La., man is facing 98 fraud charges for allegedly filing bills for work that was never done.
The Daily World reports Bruce Anthony Soileau has been booked with falsifying records which caused the city of DeRidder to pay $50,000 for services that were never performed.
Capt. Jimmy Darbonne with the St. Landry Parish Sheriff’s Office said Soileau was working as subcontractor on a job for the city of DeRidder at the time and allegedly forged piles of documents.
The company has since had to reimburse the city for the false charges, which is also seeking the return of the $17,000 it paid Soileau for the work.
Soileau is currently free on a $25,000 bond.
