Investigators haven’t determined what caused a fire that destroyed several businesses and a Kensett municipal facility.
Officials say about $100,000 in damage was done by the Sunday afternoon fire, which burned the Kensett District Courtroom, a beauty salon, a furniture store and two apartments. No injuries were reported, and officials estimate damage to be about $100,000.
The Kensett City Council met at the district courtroom. City Hall wasn’t affected.
Kensett Mayor Max McDonald said he plans to have an emergency council meeting by the end of this week to determine the city’s next step in the recovery process.
McDonald says he’s not sure where the council’s next meeting will be.
