A bank bag burst and scattered cash on Interstate 40 in Oklahoma City – leading motorists to stop on the interstate and grab bundles of money.
Emergency Medical Services Authority paramedic Shawn Altebaumer told The Oklahoman that he drove onto the scene Monday afternoon and first thought it was an auto accident. He says people were slamming their brakes to stop – getting out of their cars and grabbing the money – then leaving.
Altebaumer says he turned on the ambulance lights and called law enforcement.
Oklahoma City police Sgt. Gregory Driskill says no one has yet reported losing the money.
