The Louisiana State Police Region 2 Insurance Fraud Unit has arrested four people from Evangeline Parish for alleged insurance fraud related to a staged auto crash.
The arrests are the result of an LSP investigation into an alleged staged crash that occurred in Evangeline Parish in November 2006. The LSP had obtained information about the incident from the Louisiana Department of Insurance earlier this year.
In November 2006, a crash occurred when a Chevrolet truck was struck from behind by a Pontiac. During the investigation, troopers were able to obtain evidence which indicated the crash had not occurred as the individuals involved claimed.
Troopers learned that four people claimed to have been involved in the crash. Each individual filed a claim with the respective insurance company. Based on their evidence, troopers were able to secure arrest warrants for all four individuals.
Arrested were: Evelyn Gallow of Mamou, La., and Ricky Joseph, Rayford Jack and Curtis Joseph, all of Ville Platte, La.
All of the individuals were booked into the Evangeline Parish Jail.
