Businesses are urging Oklahomans who had damage to their homes and vehicles from recent violent storms to be patient.
Automobile repair shops, lumber stores and other related businesses have been inundated with requests since hail pounded parts of the state on May 16, smashing windshields and windows and damaging roofs.
Jan Apple at Central Glass and Mirror in Oklahoma City said May 18 all eight phone lines at the business were lit up as employees tried to prioritize calls before more possible stormy weather arrives. Apple says the business is frustrated it can’t get to customers as quickly as it would like.
Besides property damage, emergency responders said at least 21 patients were taken to local hospitals as a result of the storm, which left leaves, branches and other debris on the ground.
