So….how do these stats compare with the article earlier about Vermont? More people/bikes = more accidents/fatalities? Whooda guessed? PS: hope they didn’t fall in a vat of chocolate.

I think that with auto, if you are not wearing a seatbelt, PIP will not pay death benifits. I could be wrong though.

I suspect this article is biased. The first sentence doesnt make sense. How would a repeal of a helmet law cause an increase in number of accidents? Its like saying that improving visibility and hearing causes an increase in number of accidents.

I have been following fatality stats this year and we are losing about one rider per week. More than half have been wearing all of the necessary PPE (Helmet). Helmet use is on the rise due to madatory rider education and when folks are educated they tend to make responsible choices. We also need to focus on educating our non-rider population. No longer is the “I just didn’t see him” excusable. Get off the phones, put down the books, and if you can’t drink hot coffee and drive don’t do that either. I passed a semi truck this morning on the right side because he didn’t see me. When I got beside him he was reading the paper.
