Why do you think doctors in ER and transplant teams call the unhelmeted, DONOR CYCLES
Also their pre mature killing of themselves saves Obama big money on future health, medicare, social security.
I’m happy to see that they made an adjustment for the quantity of riders instead of just taking the total numbers for what they show. However, they did not account for the change in the type of rider. Much of the increase in riders are in the sport bike category. I have a lot of experience with sport bikes, the lifestyle and injured/deceased fellow riders. They are more risky, much more popular, built for speed and not travel, and the riders are much less experienced and frequently doing stunts/tricks. Between the widespread popularity of sport bikes and average rider age and experience level decreasing it would account for much of the 15% increase.
FWIW, I live in a state without a helmet law, did not ride with a helmet, and was injured in an accident. Many riders will argue a helmet in city drivers where you have frequent turns, will cut down your peripheral vision and could potentially cause a minor accident. However, I think a helmet has it’s place, and especially on longer trips and higher speeds could potentially save lives.
a new study shows a correlation between driving drunk and having more accidents. Also, it has been confirmed that the sun rises in the east and sets in the west. This is Doyle Redmond reporting……
they are free to choose not to wear a helmet, but the tax payers that have to pick up the indigent claims for their injuries don’t have a choice about funding them. somthings not right about that – – – -. and just imagine an insurance company having an exclusion for med coverage if a helmet isn’t worn! the Dept of Ins would have a fit!
I would like to see a study of the number of accidents where a helmet would have made a difference and the survivability of the crash absent any other injury. I have heard that helmets are good up to a speed of about 20 MPH, after that the usefulness curve takes a deep dive. I guess I can belive that if one hits a brick wall at 30 MPH, one could hardly expect a helmet to save one’s butt yet alone one’s head. And, please don’t bore me with the taxpayer cost matter. If America choses to use that as a cost benefit analysis of implementing control laws, there is no end to the human activity that could be regulated.
“A follow-ups to this story, David.
Texas is enjoying an overabundance in organs available for transplant, especially for those organs below neck level. Authorities are investigating, suspecting may be caused by the sun rising in the east and setting in the west.”
Happy Friday everyone!

Where I come from, we just call it the natural thinning of the herd. Have a great weekend!
