I am hearing so much about fraudulent roofing companies, and I do realize there are plenty out there, but many homeowners will take the responsibility of creating homeowner insurance fraud themselves. I am a salesman and part owner in a roofing company, and am tired of homeowners attempting to fill their pockets with Christmas money, instead of utilizing all insurance proceeds to protect their number #1 investment (their homes). It is a “crime” to ask a roofing company to create an invoice that matches the insurance company’s summaries, in order to put money in your pocket. If the insurance company allocates money for repairs to your house, you are required to utilize 100 % of the proceeds “on your house”. We are working in El Paso, TX. and I will be watching out for companies encouraging this, and will have no problem reporting anyone and everyone, including homeowners, for committing such fraud.
