The Louisiana Department of Insurance has issued a bulletin to all authorized and surplus lines property casualty insurance companies writing business in Louisiana reminding insurers that final submission of loss data from Hurricanes Gustav and Ike for the Aug. 1, 2009, reporting period is due to the department by Aug. 7.
The department said it is mandatory that all companies submit a final report. Each authorized and surplus lines property and casualty company must submit a report one last time to finalize reporting with the LDI. Even if companies’ loss data is zero or the data did not change in recent months, a report for the Aug. 1 report period must be submitted.
Final Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike loss submissions should be sent to DisasterReporting@ladoi.com by Aug. 7, 2009. For instructions, refer to Hurricane Gustav and Hurricane Ike Reporting Requirements dated Sept. 19, 2008 by following this link: www.ldi.state.la.us/Property_Casualty/Rating/Gustav_Ike_DataCall.htm.
Failure to report data may result in a fine, the department said.
