Sounds like the arresting officers are being a little overzealous. Any lawyer worth their salt will at least get the 3rd offense dwi and 2nd driving w/o lawful presence dropped, as they form part of the same res gestae of a single offense. However, if he got into two seperate accidents, the two hit and run charges might stick. For nonlawyer types, please don’t try to wrap your head around this, it’s just the law.
