Police in Alexandria, La., are looking for the vandal or vandals who caused more than $1 million dollars worth of damage at the Conference Center at The Greens.
After responding to a call ib the night of June 22, officers found a bulldozer — with the motor still running — inside the center’s reception room.
Before crashing through the wall of the room, the bulldozer driver left a path of property damage, running over several acres of plants, greenhouses, and wiping out the system for watering plants. Officials also said they found a large quantity of plastic plant buckets burned.
Police say the bulldozer was stolen from England Airpark.
Opened in June 2007, the Conference Center at The Greens is the former clubhouse at the Rapides Golf and Country Club. The Greens also features a golf green; a wholesale nursery and a retail nursery, together known as Clear Zone; and an open-air market.
