Why of course—All who drive in the continental US, Alaska, and Hawaii, should have a sufficient bank account, bond, or liability insurance to cover their neglience on the roadways. No dispute there. But when what appear to be racists’ remarks who come out of the woodwork, the debate takes a crooked turn on the issue and clouds reason. The sorriest comments thus far indicate that ALL NON-ILLEGALS are insured. Now that really takes the rag off the mop!

    Bill,
Another good point. Just because as a 30 year Texas agent we have never had an accident involving an insured illegal alien we need to realize that there are illegal aliens who carry insurance, somewhere out there.

    Bill,
The only person that brought race or religion up was you. GTo back and read the comments. The rest of us are talking about illegal aliens which. As that name applies they are criminals here illegally. Bill, this has nothing to do with race unless somewhat makes it about race. By the way my state of Texas has a majority Hispanic legal population. We love 75 year old Protestant women as customers and have a few already.

I had a rental car totalled by an illegal alien last year. They weren’t insured, the person who owned the car wasn’t insured and my company ended up footing the bill. The car was parked and was hit. I don’t know or care about the nationality of the individual. They are illegal. What is so hard to understand about the word illegal? If the individual is violating the law being here send them back home. If you don’t like that, tough. I don’t care if they come from Mexico, Sweden or Whatistan, they should not get the free pass people want to give them.

    Bill,
The answer to your last question is of course “NO” if we are speaking of the Great State of Texas. Everyone who drives without liability insurance in Texas is an illegal and they should be deported to live in a state or country where driving without insurance is not illegal. Was that a trick question?

Just below this article there is an advertisement that addresses buying insurance in Mexico for when you drive there. Seems that being involved in an accident in Mexico without the right auto insurance gets you a trip to Mexican jail.
    Here’s the ad copy.

Maybe we need to advertise the fact that you need insurance in Texas on Mexican websites. Didn’t you just know that someone would find a way to blame this on the state or local government rather than the people behind the problem?

Don’t forget they are using our social security numbers to obtain jobs and getting taxed and paying into the social security fund that they won’t be able to tap… wait a second…that’s good isn’t it?

Bill, I was right up there with you until your last sentence (on post 06.20 @ 4:11). oh well.

Mexico insurance and the “UNINSURED MOTORIST” analogy. Websites in Mexico!! You know, it’s kinda hard to fathom that the “trekkies” swimming or running across the border to the Land of Milk and Honey would have electricity in their homes, much less own computers. It must be a penumbra association of UNINSURED MOTORISTS meaning MEXICANS!!! Uuggghhh!

    Senor Enrique,
Please come to Mexico so you can learn what you write about. Si! We have hot and cold running water, air conditioning, swimming pools, computers, Al Gore’s internet, doctors, Mexican food restaurantes (he-he-he). By the way the good folks that you call illegals do enjoy social security and other benefits from America. Please keep the feeder open. Most of us would rather live in Mexico than Texas or the U.S.A. The others enjoy America’s free benefits.
